KRA Customs & Border Control licensed agent for Mombasa, JKIA and Nairobi ICD clearance, KEBS Local CoC facilitation and KPA release coordination.
Prepare the shipment before it reaches the gateway.
Sheffield supports Kenya import and export clearance through document review, declarations and operational coordination. Classification, valuation and permit requirements must be reviewed for the actual product. Other-country clearance is coordinated with local partners where confirmed.

Prepare early. Clear with a plan.
A commercial invoice, packing list, transport document and consignee details help the team review the clearance scope before cargo arrives.

Licensed clearance. Practical cargo release support.
Sheffield Cargo Logistics Limited is licensed by KRA Customs & Border Control as a customs clearing and forwarding agent. We support import and export customs clearance in Kenya through Mombasa Port and CFS facilities, JKIA air cargo terminals and Nairobi ICD / Embakasi.
KRA customs clearance
Importer and exporter document review, customs declaration coordination, classification queries, inspection follow-up and release planning. Our team aligns the commercial invoice, packing list, BL or AWB and consignee details before submission.
KEBS Local CoC facilitation
Approved agency facilitation for Local Certificate of Conformity applications, import documentation and destination inspection coordination. We assist with application records, inspection scheduling and follow-up. KEBS conducts the applicable assessment and issues certificates for qualifying goods.
KPA portal & container release
Operational access to KPA portals supports cargo status review, container release follow-up and port collection coordination. We align customs release, shipping line delivery orders, port charges and applicable terminal requirements before arranging haulage.
From clearance to final delivery
Coordinate port or airport collection, inland transport, delivery appointments and receiving documents. Your quotation specifies the included clearance, handling and delivery services, with duties, taxes and third-party charges identified separately where applicable.

- Importer authorisation and applicable import declaration records.
- Certificates of origin, conformity documents and product-specific approvals where required.
- Technical specifications and receiving instructions for unusual or regulated cargo.
Clearance across Kenya’s principal gateways
For sea imports, choose our Mombasa customs clearance service. For air shipments, explore JKIA airport customs clearance. For inland cargo, see Nairobi ICD clearance. Exporters can review Kenya export customs clearance and connect the declaration to the freight booking.
One consistent document file before declaration
Sheffield’s Kenya clearance team works across Mombasa Port and CFS facilities, JKIA cargo terminals and Nairobi ICD / Embakasi. We compare the commercial documents with the actual goods, importer or exporter identity and proposed customs procedure. Product descriptions should show what the item is, its material, function and condition; a description such as “general goods” is insufficient for a useful classification review.
After submission, we follow the declaration and relevant iCMS status, identify queries or OGA/PGA holds and advise what supporting records or permits are needed. Sheffield assists with compliance submissions and hold-removal follow-up; customs and the responsible agencies determine approval and official release. Collection is coordinated once the required customs, carrier and terminal releases are in place.
How the process works
- Review documents
- Resolve missing information
- Confirm applicable approvals
- Prepare declaration
- Coordinate inspection and release
Questions about this service
Can Sheffield identify agency requirements before the entry is submitted?
Yes. The team reviews the goods’ HS classification together with their specifications and use to advise likely permit requirements. Actual holds are checked in iCMS after submission and followed up with the responsible agency.
What happens when the consignee name is wrong?
Share the discrepancy before declaration or collection. The team compares the transport record, invoice and KRA PIN holder details, then advises the relevant amendment process. An unresolved identity mismatch can interrupt clearance.
